WhatsApp has begun to roll out joinable group calls, allowing you to rejoin a missed group call.

WhatsApp began rolling out joinable group calls on Monday, allowing users to join a group video or audio chat after it has begun and was first missed. This enables consumers to participate in a group call even if they first miss a call when their phone rings. The update now includes a simple method to leave and rejoin a group WhatsApp call – as long as the call is still active. Until recently, WhatsApp users had no natural way to join a group call. Participants in an active call, on the other hand, may add members during a voice or video conversation on the platform.

WhatsApp on Monday started rolling out joinable group calls to let users join a group video or voice call after it's started and was missed initially. This will help users join a group call even if they initially miss a call when their phone rings. The update also brings an easy way to let you drop off and rejoin a group WhatsApp call — as long as the call is still ongoing. Up until now, WhatsApp users were not given a native option to join a group call. However, participants in an active call could add members during a voice or video call on the platform.

WhatsApp has also introduced a new call details page that will allow users to see who has been invited but has not yet joined the chat. You may also view the active call participants from the call info screen rather than obtaining their information after joining the call. Furthermore, the call details page has an Ignore option that allows you to ignore a call and rejoin it later from the WhatsApp Calls tab.

WhatsApp was observed testing joinable calls on the platform last week. WhatsApp for iOS beta version 2.21.140.11 provided iPhone users with a fresh experience. It also included a call screen that resembled Apple's FaceTime interface.

WhatsApp added joinable calls to Android beta testers shortly after the iOS release. The general experience appears to be the same on both the iOS and Android versions.

WhatsApp has not said when you will be able to make joinable calls on your smartphone. However, because the update has begun to be distributed, it should soon be available on the most recent versions of WhatsApp for Android and iOS.

In 2018, WhatsApp added group calling to its platform, allowing users to connect with many people at the same time. Due to social distancing restrictions, the COVID-19 epidemic enhanced user acceptance of group calls. Because of this development, WhatsApp increased group calling from four to up to eight users at once.
