OnePlus has raised the prices of its televisions, including the newest OnePlus TV U1S series. While some TV models have had reasonable price increases, others have seen a 17.5 percent, or Rs. 7,000, rise. The reason for the price rise is unknown, although it might be due to an increase in the price of open-cell panels used by TV makers worldwide, an increase in the import cost of the components necessary to construct a TV, or even component shortages. As a result, some businesses have raised the prices of televisions sold in India. OnePlus is one of the firms that has raised the pricing of its televisions.
In July of last year, OnePlus debuted its OnePlus TV Y series devices in India, including a 32-inch and a 43-inch model. In May of this year, OnePlus also released the 40-inch OnePlus Y1.
Starting with the lowest, the 32-inch model was first priced at Rs. 12,999, but it was then hiked to Rs. 16,499, and it is currently priced at Rs. 18,999, a 15% increase over the previous rise and over 50% more than the debut price. The 43-inch model was initially priced at Rs. 22,999 but has since been raised to Rs. 26,999. It is currently priced at Rs. 29,499 in India. Similarly, the more current 40-inch model, which was initially priced at Rs. 23,999, is now priced at Rs. 26,499. These are some of the more minor price increases for OnePlus TVs.
The newest OnePlus TV U1S series has three models: 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch. They were released last month and cost Rs. 39,999, Rs. 47,999, and Rs. 62,999, respectively. The three versions are now available for Rs. 46,999, Rs. 52,999, and Rs. 68,999, in that order. That's an Rs. 7,000 price hike for the 50-inch model, which is the most expensive of the bunch. The 65-inch model has increased by Rs. 6,000, while the 55-inch model has increased by Rs. 5,000.
Gadgets 360 has contacted OnePlus for clarification on the new price increase on its TVs.
OnePlus is not the only company that has raised the prices of its televisions in recent months. A Xiaomi representative told Gadgets 360 at the end of June that the firm had experienced supply chain constraints in the previous year, resulting in a “constant upward movement” in the cost of components used in smartphones, smart TVs, and other products. The cost of Xiaomi and Redmi TVs then rose by 3-6 percent beginning July 1.
Gadgets 360 examined market data in February and discovered that TV prices in India rose by 10% or more across all categories and brands.
