Google has decompiled the Google Camera 8.3 APK, which is part of the Android 12 Beta 3 operating system. The latest camera APK has disclosed a little information about the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro's display, rear cameras, and front camera. Here's what they discovered.

Pixel 6 may feature FHD+ resolution, while Pixel 6 Pro may have QHD+ resolution.

The code for the Google Camera 8.3 APK indicates the position of the front-facing camera on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. According to it, the Pixel 6's selfie camera should be 540 pixels from the left edge of the screen, while the Pixel 6 Pro's selfie camera should be 722 pixels from the left edge of the screen.

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro renderings now indicate that both phones will have a selfie camera positioned in a punch-hole at the top-center of the screen. As a result, the Pixel 6's screen features 540 pixels on the left side of the camera and 540 pixels on the right side of the camera. If you do the arithmetic (540 pixels + 540 pixels), the Pixel 6 will have a screen with a resolution of 1080 pixels. In other words, the Pixel 6's display will be FHD+ in resolution. Similarly, the Pixel 6 Pro's screen will offer QHD+ resolution.

Not only that, but the code shows that the punch-hole cutout in the Pixel 6 screen will be 55 pixels in diameter, which is significantly lower than the 65-pixel punch-hole cutout in the Pixel 5 display. The Pixel 6 Pro, on the other hand, is rumored to sport a screen with a 70-pixel punch-hole cutout, which is somewhat bigger than the Pixel 5.

The Pixel 6 Pro's front camera may be capable of recording 4K movies 9to5. Google went further to discover why the Pixel 6 Pro's screen has a bigger punch-hole. They discovered that the phone includes a unique function named "p21 front setup" that is not accessible on the Pixel 6. It suggests that the Pixel 6 Pro has a different camera sensor and/or more functionality than the Pixel 6. Based on this observation, they believe the Pixel 6 Pro's selfie camera can capture 4K movies. However, there is no evidence to support this theory.

A front-facing LED flash might be included.

The Google Camera 8.3 APK breakdown shows that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will include a function dubbed "front torch." It implies that the front-facing camera on both Pixel 6 devices will include an LED flash. Could the word "front torch" refer to a screen flash function similar to the one seen in the Google Pixel 5? That does not appear to be the case. Because the phrase "front torch" is not mentioned in the Google Pixel 5's code.

While capturing 4K/60fps movies, the Pixel 6 series may provide 7x zoom.

According to the Google Camera 8.3 APK code, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will support up to 7x magnification when shooting movies in 4K quality at 60 frames per second. In comparison, the Google Pixel 5 has just 3x magnification when shooting 4K video at 60 frames per second. It also has a 5x zoom, but only in 4K/30fps video mode.

The Pixel 6 Pro may include a 5x telephoto camera.

XDA Developers also dug into the most recent Google Camera APK. They discovered that the phrase "ultratele" is mentioned. This phrase implies that the Pixel 6 series may include a telephoto camera. So far, rumors claim that the Pixel 6 Pro will include a telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. The most recent finding lends credence to those rumors.

Super Res Zoom may be absent from the Pixel 6 series.

For the Pixel 6 series, the “SABRE ALLOWED” feature is deactivated in the Google Camera 8.3 APK. This function is similar to the popular Super Res Zoom feature seen on Google Pixel 5 devices. Super Res Zoom uses machine learning to add features to photographs, making them look as though they were captured using a telephoto lens. Perhaps Google is turning off this function since Pixel 6 devices will include a telephoto camera. There is currently no definite information.
