Twitter is introducing the ability to limit the number of replies to tweets after they have been posted.

Twitter is allowing users to choose who may react to their tweets even after they have been published on social media sites. Twitter users could already restrict the number of responses on their tweets, but the decision had to be made before the message was published. Persons can restrict responses to only users they follow, users named in the tweet, or everyone – the latter is the default setting for each tweet. The new setting will be available for Twitter on Android, iOS, and the web.

Twitter revealed the new feature it is bringing to its users via a tweet. Last year, the microblogging service added the ability to select who may reply to a tweet. However, as previously said, it has to be done while drafting a tweet. Users may now modify this setting after a tweet has been published by clicking on the three-dot menu and selecting the Change who can reply option. Users will be presented with three options: Everyone, Individuals you follow, and Only people you mentioned.

People now have more control over who may respond to their tweets thanks to the new functionality. The option to restrict who can engage with a tweet can assist Twitter users in avoiding potential abuse and trolling. Twitter has not stated when the upgrade will be available to all users, but it appears that the process has begun.

Twitter has also demonstrated some concepts that would allow users to share their tweets exclusively with 'Trusted Friends,' similar to Instagram's 'Close Friends' function, which allows users to share stories with chosen followers. Twitter is developing a new feature called "Facets" that will allow users to categorize their tweets after they have been published. "Facets" will allow users to publish numerous tweets from a single account under distinct handles. Users who want to publish the same tweet from several accounts must now switch accounts and then post again.
